WEEKLY AI RECAP
October 9th - 16th 2026
💻 Claude Code Projects rolls out parallel coding for all subscribers 💻
Anthropic removes the waitlist, granting full access to parallel coding threads.
Anthropic opened Claude Code Projects to every Pro and Max subscriber, clearing the waitlist in one move. Each Project is an ongoing conversation in which Claude coordinates development work and runs every task as its own parallel thread, so code changes, tests and refactors move forward at the same time. The rollout raises competitive pressure on OpenAI Codex and Google's Jules, turning Claude into a persistent coding collaborator for professional teams.
🏠 Apple ships HomeView, its $299 Siri AI smart display 🏠
A 7-inch display with face recognition and full smart home control, powered by Siri AI.
Apple introduced HomeView, a $299 smart display built around Siri AI, the new Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence. The 7-inch device recognizes up to six users by their face, doubles as a smart home dashboard with HomeKit Secure Video, and processes camera and microphone data inside the A18 chip's Secure Exclaves. Pre-orders are open in six markets including the U.S. and UK, with availability from November 13, but HomeView is not available in the EU, where Siri AI is still unavailable.
🤖 Meta ships Muse Spark Open for Apple Silicon 🤖
Meta's 816B open-weight model rolls out with native Apple silicon integration.
Meta released Muse Spark Open, an 816B-parameter open-weight multimodal model built to run locally on Apple silicon. It requires two M5 Ultra Mac Studios, which makes it the largest open-weight model purpose-built for Apple hardware, and it signals a thaw in the Meta–Apple relationship around on-device AI. For developers and researchers, that means frontier-class local inference outside the cloud and more competitive pressure in open-weight multimodal AI.

🎨 Claude Dashboards and Motion push into enterprise analytics 🎨
Anthropic launched Claude Dashboards, which builds auto-refreshing dashboards from company data sources and is now in beta for all paid users. It also launched Claude Motion, which turns ideas and reports into animated explainer videos and is available on Team and Enterprise plans. Together they push Claude into analytics and content creation, putting pressure on tools like Tableau and Loom.
🧠 Karpathy: only 0.2% of people truly get how powerful AI is 🧠
Andrej Karpathy described a sharp funnel in AI access: only about 0.2% of people truly understand how powerful frontier LLMs have become, while most never go beyond free chatbots. The result is a widening gap between the teams already building on top-tier models and a broader market that barely registers the capability jump.
