AI strategies target sovereignty and research capabilities
The European Union has introduced a $1.1 billion initiative with two main strategies to enhance its AI adoption and research. The "Apply AI Strategy" is designed to lessen the reliance on American and Chinese technology in key economic areas, while the "AI in Science Strategy" will foster research capabilities through a new virtual resource center. Google has launched Gemini Enterprise, a conversational AI platform for the workplace that serves as a new gateway for artificial intelligence in professional settings. The platform allows employees to use natural language to interact with company data, documents, and applications, and it also provides no-code AI agent development features. Gemini Enterprise comes with pre-built agents and integrates six essential components, from advanced Gemini models to governance frameworks, representing Google's determined effort to secure a larger share of the enterprise AI market.

💰 OpenAI marks largest AI infrastructure commitment to date 💰
OpenAI has made its most significant infrastructure investment yet, with agreements with several chip manufacturers totaling approximately $1 trillion. The deal with AMD includes the deployment of 6 gigawatts of MI450 chips starting in late 2026, and OpenAI may acquire up to 10% of AMD's stock if deployment goals are met. Following the news, AMD shares increased by 23.7%. The company has also committed $100 billion to NVIDIA for over 10 gigawatts of systems, along with other partnerships.
💻 Google launches Gemini Computer Use model 💻
Google DeepMind has introduced a specialized Gemini 2.5 model created to power AI agents that can interact with graphical user interfaces by mimicking human actions. The Gemini Computer Use model can navigate websites and applications, performing complex tasks like clicking, form-filling, and scrolling. Google reports that this model surpasses leading alternatives on web and mobile control benchmarks with low latency, and early testers have seen workflows run 50% faster with up to 18% greater accuracy.
