📧 Gmail Gemini schedules meetings automatically 📧
Gmail just got smarter, Gemini now books your meetings for you.
Google launched a new Gemini AI-powered "Help me schedule" feature in Gmail that automatically suggests meeting time slots based on your Google Calendar and email context. When Gemini detects scheduling requests, it presents available slots that recipients can select directly from the email, automatically creating Calendar invites for both parties. Currently supporting two-person meetings for Workspace customers and Google AI Pro/Ultra subscribers.
🛒 Walmart enables ChatGPT direct shopping 🛒
Walmart partners with OpenAI to bring shopping directly inside ChatGPT conversations.
Walmart has entered a strategic partnership with OpenAI to embed shopping functionality directly within ChatGPT, enabling users to browse products, plan purchases, and complete transactions through conversational interfaces. The integration utilizes ChatGPT's Instant Checkout feature to provide personalized recommendations and seamless purchasing without leaving the chat environment. This collaboration represents a significant step toward agentic commerce, where AI assistants handle complex shopping tasks from product discovery to final purchase completion.
⚖️ California passes first AI companion law ⚖️
California becomes first state to regulate AI companion chatbots with comprehensive safety requirements.
California's SB 243 establishes the first state-level regulations for AI companion chatbots, targeting protection of children and vulnerable users. The legislation holds companies legally accountable if their chatbots fail to meet safety standards, requiring age verification systems and explicit warnings about social media and companion chatbot risks. Stronger penalties apply to companies profiting from illegal deepfakes. Taking effect January 1, 2026, this regulation sets a precedent for AI governance in the US and could influence federal AI policy development.

🤖 OpenAI will “treat adults like adults” allowing adult content 🤖
Sam Altman confirmed two major ChatGPT updates: customizable personality controls and an upcoming "Mature Mode" exclusively for verified adults. This feature will enable mature or erotic conversations only upon user request, giving adults significant freedom in their ChatGPT interactions. The refreshed ChatGPT version launches first, followed by Mature Mode in December. Developers will also be able to create mature apps within ChatGPT using built-in age gates and content filters. This represents a significant policy shift for OpenAI, expanding ChatGPT's capabilities while maintaining safety controls through verification systems.
🔧 Karpathy releases nanochat open-source clone 🔧
Renowned AI researcher Andrej Karpathy released nanochat, an open-source, full-stack ChatGPT clone that users can train and deploy in just hours. The lightweight framework provides an end-to-end solution for training, fine-tuning, and chatting with small-scale AI models using approximately 8,000 lines of code. This hackable alternative democratizes access to conversational AI development, enabling researchers and developers to experiment with custom chatbots without requiring massive computational resources.
