Partnership allows ChatGPT maker to become for-profit while nonprofit retains control.

The newly announced agreement enables OpenAI to restructure into a for-profit company while its nonprofit arm maintains oversight and secures a stake valued at over $100 billion. The deal requires regulatory approval and signals Microsoft's shift toward a diversified AI strategy mixing internal models with partner technology. Microsoft plans significant investments in proprietary AI development alongside continued OpenAI collaboration.

Government-backed Open-Source alternative to proprietary Generative AI chatbots announced

Switzerland has officially released Apertus, a comprehensive open-source AI model positioned as a national alternative to proprietary systems like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. The government-supported initiative represents Europe's growing push for AI sovereignty and transparent alternatives to Big Tech monopolies. Apertus offers full transparency in training data and methodology while maintaining competitive performance across multiple languages and domains. This marks a significant step towards European AI independence.

🧠 Claude gains long term memory for Work 🧠
Anthropic’s AI assistant can now remember conversations and carry context across projects

Anthropic's latest update gives Claude the ability to remember previous conversations and automatically maintain context across ongoing projects, but exclusively for Team and Enterprise subscribers. The memory feature helps Claude tailor responses to specific team processes, client requirements, and project continuity. Users maintain full control with options to view, edit, or disable memories, plus incognito chat modes for private conversations. Administrators can deactivate the feature organization-wide at any time.
