Latest GPT-5.1 Instant and GPT-5.1 Thinking now available for testing
OpenAI has officially released its GPT-5.1 family of models, featuring both GPT-5.1 Instant and GPT-5.1 Thinking variants that deliver enhanced performance and more customizable behavior and personalities. The models are currently being tested on platforms like OpenRouter under the name "Polaris Alpha" with a 256k context window. Enterprise accounts will gain access on November 24, with Plus and Pro users potentially getting earlier access within the coming week.

Claude maker partners with UK startup to build custom data centers
The Claude owner is partnering with UK cloud startup Fluidstack to build custom data centers in New York and Texas. Anthropic expects the project to create approximately 800 permanent jobs and 2,400 construction positions, with the first sites launching in 2026. The massive investment represents one of the largest AI infrastructure commitments by a major AI company to date.

Japanese investor cashes out massive position in chip giant
Japanese tech investor SoftBank announced it has sold its entire stake in Nvidia for $5.8 billion, sending shockwaves through markets and stoking fears that the AI bubble may have peaked. Chinese tech giant Baidu has released ERNIE-4.5-VL-28B, a 28-billion-parameter multimodal AI model that claims to match or exceed GPT-5 and Gemini on several benchmarks. The model's standout feature is "Thinking with Images" - allowing the AI to dynamically zoom in and out of images to examine details. Released under the permissive Apache 2.0 license.
