MAIN AI UPDATES / 27th November 2025
🧠 Perplexity introduces AI memory for personalized conversations 🧠
AI assistant now retains user preferences across all interactions
Perplexity has launched personalization features that allow its AI assistant to retain user preferences, interests, and context across conversations. This memory system automatically loads relevant information for continuity, improving answer quality while reducing the need for repetitive context engineering.
⚖️ Anthropic CEO summoned to testify on Chinese AI cyberattack usage ⚖️
Congressional hearing focuses on Claude's role in state-sponsored hacking
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has been called to testify at a December 17 hearing regarding how Chinese state actors used Claude in a wide-reaching cyber-espionage campaign. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian and Quantum Xchange CEO Eddy Zervigon will also testify. Lawmakers are increasingly concerned about how nation-state hackers could exploit AI tools for attacks and how AI can be leveraged for cybersecurity defense.
🎮 xAI trains League of Legends AI model 🎮
Elon Musk's AI company builds model capable of autonomous gameplay
xAI is developing an AI model capable of competing in League of Legends, demonstrating breakthrough capabilities in understanding and interacting with complex computer interfaces without specialized APIs. Success would require the model to read any computer interface, reason through complex scenarios, and produce robust multi-step strategic plans in real-time competitive environments. This achievement would extend AI capabilities beyond current limitations, potentially enabling AI systems to operate across any software environment autonomously. The implications extend far beyond gaming, as such a model could automate complex workflows across industries, potentially reshaping the global economy.

🏗️ AI infrastructure evolves toward experience-based training paradigm 🏗️
The AI industry is shifting from traditional text prediction models to systems trained through environmental interaction and experience. This "Era of Experience" approach focuses on reinforcement learning from proprietary environments rather than web-scraped data, enabling companies to build defensible moats through custom training loops. The paradigm promises more specialized, capable AI systems tailored to specific business contexts.
🎓 Karpathy proposes in-class testing solution for AI education challenges 🎓
Andrej Karpathy outlined his approach to AI integration in education, emphasizing that AI detection in homework is impossible and schools must adapt accordingly. He proposes shifting majority of grading to in-class work where teachers can monitor students directly. The goal is ensuring students become proficient with AI while maintaining independent problem-solving abilities, similar to how calculators are handled in mathematics education.
